okay so i was asked whether i wanted to do an evening assignment tomorrow.

immediate reflex was to say no!! evening assignments are a bitch cause of the traffic jams and its been raining non stop the past couple of days and getting wet at the French Embassy yesterday was quite enough thankyouverymuch.

so i was leaving the office and logged on to check my assignment for tomorrow and outta curiosity i checked out the evening assignment.

Last few days have been super duper Christmassy!!

Christmas dinners 2 days in a row and another one tonight. I'm gonna put on an extra load of fat sigh.

2005 is coming close to one of the better Christmasses i've had. Spending it with Justin just made it extra special for me :)

Xmas gifts this year (both the giving and the receiving) have been quite satisfying :)

Work has been extremely fun, i love that i'm enjoying myself and getting lots of experience at the same time.

First day of work

the people are really nice but very intent on throwing me into the deep end of the pool with a really small life vest.

my sister is being super annoying and insisting on watching Desperate Housewives on the PC while i'm watching Lord of the Rings on the TV. (the PC is right next to the TV) i have offered her the use of my laptop but i swear she's doing this to purposely be in my way. and then she had the gall to complain that the TV was super loud when I. GOT. HERE. FIRST. *stomp*

siblings are such a trial.

so i'm being annoying back and coughing my throat out cause i know that it bothers her. ugh but i'm not entirely enjoying the feeling of my lungs being strained either.

starting work on monday. this cough better be gone by then.

Shanghai Day #4/ Hong Kong Day #1

and on we go with the travel itenerary :P

had to wake up at 6 in the morning to get to the Pudong Airport sigh.



found a really interesting sign at the immigration counter.

sister got sick on the plane on the way to Hong Kong and she turned green (i'm not exaggerating) and she had to get wheeled out on a wheelchair. sigh. was majorly embarassing cause dad made me accompany her through immigration and everyone was staring at her, wondering what was wrong with her.

on the bright side, we got priority through the immigration queues lol.



Hong Kong Airport!

we checked into the Island Shangrila, it was pure 5 star BLISS. at least the rooms weren't saunas! and there was a TV in the bathroom!

ahhh, that's what i call a good hotel.



we took a nap and headed out to Central around 9pm.

Louis Vuitton!!!!! lol too bad i'd had my share of branded goods in Shanghai!

went to this place called Lan Kwai Fong which is apparently where all the 'cool' people in Hong Kong hang out and had dinner there.

there were heaps of guai lous there all drinking and stuff.



so touristy. i know :P

went back to the hotel to catch up on some sleep after that.

Shanghai Day #2 & #3

i scratched the car todayy!! :( much to justins amusement...

but anyway! dad and mom aren't too pissed, i didn't even get a lecture. but i promised to be HEAPS more careful with the car the next time.

Shanghai Day 2

my dad went to Ji Nan to check out some factories there so me, my mom and my sister were left in Shanghai for a day by ourselves. we decided to check out the area around the hotel.



we walked around Citic Square for a bit, as well as Nanjing Lu looking for places to eat. found this place on a street corner that sold Hongkie food which was quite nice.

did MORE shopping on Nanjing Lu and bought this pair of jeans!



Lysh thinks it looks too colourful for me but i really really like them!!! they're really nifty!

sis wanted to go back to Xiang Yang market after that so we followed her. bought like heaps of shoes and silver stuff for really really cheap!!

i reiterate: I LOOOOOOOOOOVE SHANGHAI :D

anyway, went back to the hotel after that and waited for my dad to get back from Ji Nan so we could go for dinner together!

found this nifty night market like just around the road from the hotel and had dinner there...

Shanghai Day 3

was easily the boringest day we had in Shanghai! dad dragged us to Art Galleries at 8 in the morning (argh)

didn't take many photos because i was too freaking sleepy.

went back to Xiang Yang again but by that time i think the novelty was wearing off so i didn't really buy anything.

met Alysha in the afternoon when my parents and sister went to explore MORE art galleries!



took her to the night market behind my hotel again!



wahahhaha altogether we sapu-d like 7 pairs of earrings from this lady there for abt RM 4 each.

dad said we could go back to Shanghai soon, am definitely looking forward to that! was very happy at the end of the trip that i didnt end up with food poisoning (which was what happened the last time) and even more amazingly, there were no family arguments!!

Hong Kong trip laters!

Shanghai Day #1

hellooo!! am finally back from Hong Kong with a sore throat, a cough and funny as ear pressure. was a good week away from home all in all :D

took off from KL International Airport at 1am and it was all rainy...

landed in Shanghai 6.20am the following morning in minus 2 degree weather and super thick fog.



had to wrap up in several layers of clothing, it was THAT cold. the good thing about super cold weather is that your boogers freeze up before they can run properly :P



by the time we got into the Maglev station, it was 9.30 and we were all fricking tired and freezing our butts off.



apparently it can go up to 400km/h but it only went up to 301 that day. feel quite cheated hmpf :(

checked into the Grand Pacific Hotel at 10.30am, was quite a long ride from the airport to the hotel.

did i mention that Shanghai cab drivers are fucking crazy??!!? i swear we almost got killed like 10 times by cab drivers and random buses and other cars.



the room was a fricking sauna, we couldn't even change the temperature so we were broiling the whole time. we were like prancing around in spaghetti straps and undies in the hotel room but outside we were wrapped in 4 layers of clothing. tuh.



anyway, we took a nap and then headed off to xiang yang market to do some shopping!!!

getting there is a hassle in itself, we were with one of my dads Australian business partners and once the vendors saw that we were with a guai lou so about 30 of them followed us all the way to the market.



see ALLLLLLLL those people??? they're all following lawrie. and if u look properly, u can spot me and my sister with our ear muffs in the back lol :D

spent pretty much the whole day there looking for bargains. got dragged up into several alleyways and upstairs shops which was pretty scary.

after that, went for dinner at some place on Huai Hai road.

ewww winter crab. normally i love crabs but this one had hair on its pincers, i absolutely refused to eat it, was so gross.

wow okay so i tried to access my blog from here and apparently blogspot really is blocked over here. i can't explain why i can access my publish site though?

anyway! it's been a great 3 days in Shanghai. am in the Dragonair lounge of Shanghai Pudong Airport right now waiting for my plane to Hong Kong. will be doing more shopping there yay!!!

hopefully will have WIFI in the Island Shangrila! *crosses fingers*

little bits of randomness

my house has been infested by millipedes (smaller, less dangerous versions of centipedes) and my sister has concluded that there is a mama millipede breeding somewhere. does anyone know about millipede breeding habits? :/

anyway, as if millipedes weren't enough, guess what i found in my kitchen last night when i went down to get ice cream?

the next person that tells me that that is a very small snail is going to get whacked on the head with it. regardless of size, I DONT LIKE SNAILS.

the whole house has gone on a CSI spree. we just bought season 5 yesterday at Hartamas and i spent the day watching the episodes i missed in Australia. i can't wait until i get to the finale and Nick gets buried alive!!!

went for dinner with tmn desa peeps (yay!) in hartamas then decided to get some ice cream from Baskin Robbins in Mont Kiara after.

was over at justins place for a while but didn't manage to get any pictures of twitch. idiot was avoiding me like crazy. took one sniff at my toe then darted off under the table.

ooh! i got my hair fixed today too at Soho in Avenue K. they did a pretty good job i reckon, at least now i don't feel like hunting down that lady that ruined my hair in Aussie to burn her house down. i kept the length but layered it so it didnt look so thick.

eh and before i forget, thanks mas for coming in to check out birthday pressies for Oya! :P

anyway, new haircut must pimp (along with new Cats Whiskers top haha)
